Overweight and obesity on the rise in the United States, except in adult women

When comparing data of 3958 US children and adolescents and 4431 US adults from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2003-2004 with data collected in 1999-2001, there was a significant rise in the prevalence of overweight among children and adolescents whilst the prevalence of obesity significantly increased among adult men but not among adult women during the 6 years.
